This is a class for printmakers that want to lean new tricks and expand their visual vocabulary with unique and innovative mark-making techniques. This class will reveal several secrets and tips about tools, materials and processes for creating new patterns, impressions, line work and textures. This class emphasizes experimentation and risk-taking to explore new options for one’s work. The mediums we will be working with include monotype, intaglio, chine collĂ© and relief. All levels will benefit from this class.

Professional Practice for Printmakers

This is a workshop class that will assist printmakers in developing and producing a package and plan for professional self-promotion. This workshop will cover resume, bio and art statement writing, portfolios, promotional materials, website strategies, professional organizations and affiliations, and career opportunities for exhibitions, fellowships, grants and residencies. There will be special guest visits and portfolio presentations from accomplished print artists and print organization officials. Homework assignments will be assigned and all students will have the opportunity to work on their self-promotion and receive constructive feedback from the class.

About The Position:

Titan would like to extend an opportunity to engage in an unpaid graphic design internship program. We are currently seeking (2) individuals for the Spring 2010 semester. Students will receive school credit in exchange for their services and would be expected to work potentially up to 20 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8AM-6PM). We are flexible and will work around your school schedule.

Responsibilities Include:

- Design compelling spec art for transit Ads including BART, MUNI, & AC TRANSIT
- Design presentation slides
- Miscellaneous Administrative duties

Qualifications:

He/She must possess the following skills and traits:

- Fluent In Adobe Photoshop
- Fluent In Adobe In Design
- Fluent In Adobe Illustrator
- Keynote, Power Point, Word, Excel
- Enthusiastic self-starter with great follow up and communication skills
- Organized, detail oriented, and has excellent multi tasking skills
- Capable of working independently as well as collaborating with colleagues
- Ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment
