SF State Web-design Opportunity for Students

We are seeking creative, computer-savvy students to create a website for our student-led sustainability campaign here at SF State. It's called The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) and it's been wildly successful at other campuses nationwide.

This is a great opportunity to add to your portfolio while contributing to the campus community and working with students from different departments who are all united by a passion for sustainability, social equity, and improving our school. You don't need to know anything about sustainability - we'll fill you in! There are no set hours and we'll do all we can to make the task as easy for you as possible. You have a valuable skill we need.

This is not a paid position, but time spent building the TGIF website could potentially be used towards volunteer/internship requirements or just as a chance to work on your web-design skills and take on a fun, fulfilling challenge. Additionally, if the TGIF campaign is successful, it may eventually be used to establish a paid student web-manager position - that could be you!

We welcome all and any SF State community members to join our team, and not just web-designers. There's something for everyone, even if you can only spare twenty minutes or just want to become informed about green happenings on campus.

Interested students should email TGIF.SFSU@gmail.com for more info.

We look forward to hearing from you!

SFAC Gallery Internship Program

The SFAC Gallery internship program is unique in that the gallery staff works directly with each intern to develop specific projects that suit his or her talents while providing professional development.

When an intern is hired, the first month is dedicated to training and introduction of gallery operations. During this time, the intern will work with the gallery staff to develop a long-term project that he or she will manage during the course of the internship. While working at the SFAC Gallery, all interns are considered staff members. It is an open-ended collaborative relationship that both serves the needs and goals of the gallery while providing essential experience for the intern.

If you are interested in working with the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, submit your resume and a cover letter to Aimee Le Duc, Gallery Manager. The application deadline is Friday, May 27, 2011.

California State University Media Internship Program
csumediainterns.com

Please note that students seeking internships in the Entertainment Industry this spring and / or summer 2011 should apply to the California State University Media Internship Program now. Students interested in an internship for fall 2011 are encouraged to make an early application also.

Part of the Entertainment Industry Initiative funded by the Chancellor's Office, the media internship program provides internship opportunities in a wide range of areas of the media/entertainment industry to statewide CSU students. The program operates through two centers: Internship Hollywood, based at Cal State Los Angeles for internships in Southern California, and Internship Bay Area, based at San Francisco State University for internships in the Bay Area.

Major film studios, broadcast and cable networks, television stations, independent production companies, agencies, etc, have notified us that they are currently accepting students for spring and reviewing applicants for summer.  These are highly sought-after, quality positions.   However, the special relationship that we have established with these organizations during our five years of operation gives CSU students a competitive edge. In order to take advantage of this tradition, they are encouraged to apply to the MIP as soon as possible

Last year, the California State University Media Internship Program provided almost five hundred CSU students with internships in the Entertainment Industry.  We placed students in all sorts of positions: accounting, advertising, talent agency, casting, animation, CGI, gaming, journalism and news, business, camera and cinematography, development, finance, graphic design, human resources, information technology, internet and web design, law, management, marketing, new media, music, post production, production, public relations, radio, reality TV, sales, social media, sports, set design, sound production and post, etc.

The program accepts undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates throughout the year including winter, spring, summer and fall.

Please direct all inquires to csumediainterns.com for application materials and for more information. Or contact us if you have any questions.
